Senior Full Stack Developer (PHP)

Marcus Donald are currently looking for a Senior PHP Developer to develop and maintain software which meets both internal & external Client requirements. This will include creating new and enhanced functionality for Totara and Moodle.

A solid all-round developer is required, with extensive and proven experience of PHP, HTML and CSS development & advanced knowledge of JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks (such as Vue.js, jQuery, React and Angular).

* Fully Remote / Home-based Position *
* £50,000 - £60,000 per annum + Benefits *
Although they are happy with 100% remote/home-based, if you would like an office environment, there are offices in Sheffield & Brighton.
 
This is a great position for someone looking to be involved in a rather exciting project, working alongside Development teams in UK, APAC & US. They will also be using PHP 8.1 very soon!

Senior PHP Developer – Responsibilities:

• Create new and enhanced functionality for Totara and Moodle
• Produce robust, maintainable, and performant code
• Develop and support software including applications, database integration, interfaces, and new functionality enhancements
• Mentor mid-level developers
• Developing and maintaining software to meet agreed specifications in terms of high quality standards and timelines

Senior PHP Developer – Requirements:

• A solid all-round developer who has a good understanding of full tech stack technologies
• Experience of working in Scrum or Agile project teams
• Experience in developing responsive and adaptive designs.
• Experience implementing cross-browser solutions.

Senior PHP Developer - Technical Skills:

• Proven experience with PHP, HTML and CSS Development
• Knowledge of JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks (such as Vue.js, jQuery, React and Angular)
• Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL / MySQL
• Good working knowledge of CSS pre-processors
• Proven experience in Object Oriented PHP
• Familiar with test-driven development (TDD), and continuous integration (CI)

Senior PHP Developer - Desirable:

• Knowledge/experience of Learning Management and Content Management Systems
• Experience with PHPUnit
