Marcus Donald are currently seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to join a client based in Canary Wharf. The purpose of the Architect is to work alongside the Projects teams and Architecture teams to produce solution designs. This will ensure the Solution Architecture team meet business requirements, move enterprise architecture forward and support the re-design without adding additional cost and complexity to the teams.

Key responsibility for the Solutions Architect

• Lead and collaborate with the technical community to refine best practices and ensure their adoption.
• Promote best engineering practices including Test Driven Development (TDD).
• Keep up to date on latest design trends / technologies
• Re-use IT Assets to their maximum where possible resulting in reduced cost to the Architecture teams
• Develop end-to-end technical solutions to meet agreed requirements
• Identify the nature of change required
• Identify the individual component domains necessary to create change

Key skills for the Solutions Architect

• Extensive experience in 2 or more; design, architecture, development, testing, business analysis or application management
• Delivering cross-functional solutions to a range of environments
• Ability to estimate the financial impact of architectural alternatives
• Full project lifecycle
• Deliver end-to-end project lifecycle (ideally worked on a greenfield project however not essential)
• Extensive knowledge of solution architecture patterns, practices and frameworks
• Core delivery platforms and processes
• User experience and Usability
• Software development lifecycle processes and practices
• Excellent planning and time management skills
• Working knowledge of service design principles
• Strong relationship building skills
