Description
Network Engineer required for London City based global investment bank. This is a hybrid role and initial 6 months inside IR35 contract role with a strong possibility of moving to permanent.
Skills required for the Network Engineer
The successful individual must:
- Must have experience in a low-latency, multicast environment
- Have extensive experience of managing internal BGP and OSPF routing in a banking environment.
- Understand and manage L2 VRF/Vlan/STP and Mlag, Port-Channel concept, NAT & Access List
- Have experience with network monitoring tools and network alerts e.g Observium / Icinga / Nagios
- Have experience with PaloAlto - firewall, IDS/IPS
- Have direct experience managing Arista Switches, MSS knowledge would be useful.
- Preference will be given to candidates with network automation experience (Python, Ansible) & SONiC management and deployment.
- Certification in AWS/Cisco/Arista/PaloAlto is desirable.
Responsibilities.
The Network Engineer’s role is to ensure the stability and integrity of the unicast and multicast network environment. The role will involve:
- Planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organisation.
- Participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimisation of all network hardware, software, and communication links.
- Analyse and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and handle security and Firewall requests.
The successful individual will need to hit the ground running; therefore it is critical you can demonstrate this.
