Senior DevOps Engineer

Marcus Donald People are working with a client based in the City of London that are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer. The successful candidate will have experience working in large scale Cloud compute Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

The Senior DevOps Engineer will join a large, cross platform team, to help the client build and automate an enterprise scale cloud environment.

Key skills needed for the Senior DevOps Engineer:

• AWS, Azure, GCP
• Infrastructure build and configuration of several areas including – Networks, Compute and storage
• IaaC – Terraform, Jenkins, Hashicorp/Vault, Jenkins, Ansible, BitBucket
• Service Control policies – AWS
• Python, Ruby or Powershell
• Knowledge of Data Serialisation Languages (JSON, YAML)
• Strong experience with Networking technologies - Networking in cloud across hybrid cloud environments
• Enterprise scale cloud platform experience
• Automation and cloud configuration management skills – Ansible
• Coding

Key responsibilities for the Senior DevOps Engineer:

• Automating a hybrid cloud platform
• Engineering through IaaC
• Automating cloud environments
• Develop and define tools and procedure for internal operations teams to provide excellent customer experience
• Discuss and implement high level technical ideas
• Review potential new products that will benefit the cloud operations and present these to the relevant teams
• Ensure projects are complete within allocated time frames and budgets
• Communicate with other teams/departments to ensure that work is achieved efficiently
• Produce development and documentation used for future funding
• Automate cloud environment
