Contract: Inside IR35 - £350 to £375 per day

About the Role

We are seeking an Operations Specialist to join a busy Equity Settlements team within a global financial services environment. This role focuses on managing equity settlement activity across multiple international markets, ensuring timely and efficient settlement, minimising operational risk, and maintaining strong communication with trading desks, counterparties, and internal teams.

The position is well-suited to someone who thrives in a fast‑paced operational setting, has strong attention to detail, and enjoys problem‑solving within a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily equity settlement activities across multiple markets
  • Ensure trades are accurately matched and settled within agreed timelines
  • Monitor and manage settlement risk and exposure
  • Process and manage cash movements, including funding support where required
  • Perform daily stock and cash reconciliations and resolve breaks promptly
  • Investigate, resolve, and escalate settlement and reconciliation issues as needed
  • Communicate effectively with trading desks, counterparties, clients, and internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate with related teams such as FX and money markets when required

Knowledge and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a numerate discipline
  • Experience within financial services operations, ideally in equity settlements
  • Strong understanding of trade matching, settlement processes, and fails management
  • Knowledge of multiple global markets, including UK/Europe and North America
  • Cash equity product knowledge required; exposure to other instrument types is an advantage
  • Experience with settlement and reconciliation systems is desirable
  • Gloss experience preferred.
