A leading financial services organisation is seeking a Web Integration Engineer to support the rollout and ongoing operation of a browser isolation security solution. This role sits within a modern cyber security function and focuses on web integration, troubleshooting, and ensuring application compatibility in secure browsing environments.

This position is ideal for someone with strong web fundamentals, excellent analytical capability and a passion for cyber security. Please note: this is not a UI or website development role—it is centred on diagnostics, integration, and problem-solving at the browser and web-traffic layers.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and optimisation of a browser isolation platform (e.g., Menlo Security or similar).
• Lead integration efforts across authentication flows, cookies/sessions, redirects, headers, and web application behaviour.
• Troubleshoot complex issues involving browsers, network flows, and application layers using tools such as DevTools, HAR analysis, and network traces.
• Collaborate closely with security, networking, and desktop engineering teams to ensure consistent and secure user experience.
• Produce and maintain documentation, integration patterns, and operational runbooks.
• Contribute to security compliance and best-practice alignment.

Core Skills Required

• Web Application Diagnostics: Strong understanding of HTTP/S, sessions, redirects, headers, caching, and modern web architecture.
• Browser & Protocol Troubleshooting: Proficiency with browser developer tools, HAR files, console logs, and debugging complex behaviours.
• Integration Experience: Practical knowledge of configuring SSO patterns, exception rules, security policies, and compatibility tuning.
• Security Fundamentals: Understanding of authentication, secure headers, session risks, and least-privilege principles.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Clear communication skills and ability to work with multiple technical teams and vendors.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Menlo Security or similar browser isolation technologies.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals: proxies, DNS, TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls.
• Scripting/automation (Python, Bash) for troubleshooting or workflow optimisation.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP).

Contract Details

• Duration: 12 months
• Rate: Up to £480/day (Outside IR35)
• Location: Hybrid – 2–3 days per week on-site
