Description
A London City based Investment Bank are seeking a highly skilled Senior Desktop Engineer to join their global IT team. This role is pivotal in delivering seamless desktop engineering solutions across a complex, high-security environment supporting over 10,000 users worldwide. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, SCCM, and PowerShell scripting, and will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable desktop solutions that meet the needs of a fast-paced investment banking environment.
** Hybrid – 1 / 2 days a week in the office.**
** Salary £85,000 - £95,000 + Excellent Benefits package **
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, deployment, and management of modern desktop solutions using Intune, Autopilot, and SCCM.
- Develop and maintain automated scripts (PowerShell, VBScript, etc.) for desktop provisioning, patching, and compliance.
- Manage global Windows 10/11 endpoint configurations, ensuring performance, security, and compliance.
- Collaborate with global teams to support desktop infrastructure across multiple regions and time zones.
- Drive continuous improvement in device lifecycle management, including onboarding, imaging, and decommissioning.
- Provide Tier 3 support for escalated desktop issues and act as a technical lead for major incidents.
- Maintain and enhance Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and configuration baselines.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies, regulatory requirements, and internal standards.
- Participate in audit and risk assessments, providing documentation and remediation plans as needed.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Extensive desktop engineering experience, preferably in Investment Banking.
- Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, and SCCM.
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell; experience with other scripting languages is a plus.
- Proven experience managing large-scale desktop environments (10,000+ users).
- Deep understanding of Windows OS internals, Active Directory, Azure AD, and GPOs.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to play a key role in a global team.
