Description

ROLE:  The Salesforce Release Manager will be responsible for the smooth deployment of Salesforce applications and updates within an organisation. You will play a key role in ensuring that changes are deployed efficiently and aligned with business objectives.  With knowledge of agile methodologies, processes and frameworks, the Release Manager will play a critical role in the planning, development, and execution of the release plan. You will be using source control systems (e.g., GitHub), release branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines for release management and deployment across environments. 

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, including Salesforce objects, workflows, validation rules, and Apex code.
  • Experience with Salesforce deployment tools (e.g., Azure DevOps (Preferred), Azure Pipelines (Preferred), Azure Repos (Preferred), SonarQube, Azure Test Plans (Preferred), Gearset, Salesforce DX, Change Sets, ANT Migration Tool).
  • Experience setting up development orgs and data seeding (OwnBackup)
  • Experience with Branching Strategy tools (e.g., Github, Bitbucket)
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple releases simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools for Salesforce.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and ITIL or other IT service management frameworks is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

 
INFO: The Salesforce Release Manager will be responsbile for: 

  • Release Planning and Coordination: Plan, schedule, and manage Salesforce release activities across various environment and maintain the Salesforcr release calendar
  • Release Execution: Execute Salesforce releases, including metadata and data migrations, code deployments, and configuration changes; coordinate with QA teams and troubleshoot release-related issues.
  • Change Management: Manage change requests, including documentation and implement change control processes.
  • Testing: Ensure regression testing is conducted in a sandbox before releasing the product.
  • Post-deployment: Support post-deployment activities, including knowledge transfer, process documentation, and application bug fixes.
  • Compliance: Ensure that Salesforce releases comply with all relevant regulations, including data security, regulatory standards, and audit trails.
