Linux Engineer

Marcus Donald are currently looking for Linux Engineer to join our client in the insurance industry on a 6-month contract.
 
** 6-month contract **
** Inside IR35 // £500 - £550 P/D **
** 80% Remote // 1 day in the office **
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and supporting Linux servers and storage across all global regions. The primary focus of this role will be day-to-day operations, as well as supporting development and application-support teams.
 
** Just 1 day per week in their beautiful London offices (close to Cannon Street) **
 
Linux Engineer – Main Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement Linux server and storage solutions across all global regions.
• Provide day-to-day support for Linux servers and storage systems.
• Collaborate with development and application-support teams to provide necessary resources and support.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts with Python on SaltStack to streamline server and storage administration tasks.
• Continuously monitor, optimize and improve system performance, capacity and availability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a high level of service delivery and performance.

Linux Engineer – Required:

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Linux server and storage administration.
• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and hardware.
• Knowledge of networking, virtualization, and storage technologies.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Cloud technologies.
