Description

We are working with a leading financial services company who are looking to onboard a Network Security Engineer as part of our their continuous growth. As a Network Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network security. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to assess security risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement industry best practices to safeguard their systems.

Contract:
6 months rolling
Rate: £450 – £550 Inside IR35
Location: 1 day a week in London
 
Network Security Engineer – Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and configure Cisco network security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and secure remote access technologies.
  • Perform network security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Monitor network traffic and security event logs to detect and respond to security incidents, including intrusion attempts, malware infections, and data breaches.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of network security technologies and solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network security issues, working closely with network administrators and other IT teams.
  • Participate in incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery.

Network Security Engineer – Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, routing protocols, VLANs, and VPN technologies.
  • Strong understanding of network security concepts, including access control, authentication, encryption, and vulnerability management.
  • Experience with network security technologies and tools, such as IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, and endpoint protection.
  • Cisco certifications, such as CCNP Security or CCIE Security, are highly desired.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
