Data Analyst

Marcus Donald is looking for a Data Analyst to join a very popular company within the Education industry (household name). We are looking for a data professional to help assist in their database development and data integration through the Microsoft technology products and tools used.

** Fully remote / Home Based **

You will be representing their DevOps function within the Data & Analytics team providing the business with data solutions across the diverse portfolio of group systems. Providing guidance, analysis, insight, and a broad range of reporting solutions to meet contractual, regulatory, operational, tactical, and strategic requirements.

Data Analyst – Responsibilities:

• Develop and support Data Integration solutions using technology such as Azure Data Factory
• Provide reports from solutions to visual dashboards that provide appropriate communication of information in a manner that is both accessible and engaging
• Interrogate SQL Server, Microsoft CRM Dynamics, and other primary source
• Support key stakeholders with relevant data and reporting requirements to support successful delivery of change
• Contribute to continuous improvement and development
• Develop, refine, and maintain base templates and standards for reporting and data modelling
• Translate data outputs into findings delivered to stakeholders through reports or presentations through clear written and spoken communication
• Complete time series and other trend analysis using a variety of techniques with the ability to clearly communicate findings to business stakeholders

 Data Analyst – Technical Skills Required:

• Develop and support Data Integration solutions using technology such as Azure Data Factory
• Advanced skills in Excel, SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Data Modelling, DAX, Power Query, Power BI Desktop, Power BI Paginated Report Builder, Power BI Service & Azure Gateway
• Experience of working creatively with large datasets (extracting, cleansing, manipulating, merging, analysing)
• Good understanding of data structures/taxonomies
• Experience in working with management and stakeholders to prioritise business and information needs within an Agile DevOps framework
• Deep understanding of the importance of intelligence, dashboards and KPIs in driving business improvement

Data Analyst – Desired skills:

• Experience of developing and implementing databases
• Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics
• Experience of other analytical tools including R/Python, relational and non-relational databases, SPSS / SAS
• Visual Studio expertise, including .net C#
• Experience of data interchange & integration
• Adaptability to work independently and as part of a DevOps or cross-functional team.
