Senior Information Governance Officer

Marcus Donald are currently in the Market for an Senior Information Governance Officer to join a well-known London based Telecoms organisation.

**This is a fully remote / home-based position – all over UK**

**Inside IR35 – 6 month - Scope for contract to be extended**

The Senior Information Governance Officer will advise on all aspects of information governance and records management to internal stakeholders, and coordinate and process information requests. Working closely with the Information Governance Lead and Data Protection Officer to support the development of information policies and procedures that ensuring the organisation complies with UK data protection laws.

Some of the responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Contribute to IG change assessments DPIA’s (Data Protection Impact Assessments)
• Co-ordinates response to SARs (Subject Access Requests)
• Respond to data breach incidents
• Support the ongoing review and improvement of policies in relation to data protection.
• Maintain and update companies ROPA (records of processing activities)

Technical skills required for the best shot at getting the role include:

• Experience using complex and large systems
• Strong working knowledge of GDPR, Data Protection Act
• Strong overall technical background as opposed to legal.
• 4 years’ experience in an Information Governance / Data protection role.
• Practical experience dealing with DPIA’s and SAR’s
• Previous experience in dealing with incidents and tackling legacy systems.
