Lead Software Engineer

Marcus Donald are looking for a Lead Software Engineer (preferably Angular) to join a popular Commercial Property firm in London. We are looking for an individual who has demonstrable recent experience working in Full Stack Web Development!

As a Lead Software Engineer the successful applicant will be a key part of the Agile project team with the exciting brief to reimagine and rebuild an internally developed and supported sales software – a key business product!
 
You will need to be living a comfortable commutable distance from South West London (within London Borough of Merton) as you will be expected to commute into the offices within a hybrid working structure.

Lead Software Engineer – Responsibilities:

• Overall accountability for the technical decisions of the IT Development team
• Development of software that realises business and technical requirements for systems functionality and performance
• Iterate on existing functionality to improve and refine UI, functionality, and code quality
• Collaborate with the QA Analyst to ensure all developed features are tested thoroughly
• Document code consistently throughout the development process
• Release code to staging and production environments

Lead Software Engineer – Skills:

• Demonstrable recent experience working in full-stack web development in a relevant area, preferably Angular
• A background in developing, managing, maintaining and enhancing inhouse built software products across the full stack
• Tech Stack - Experience with at least 4/5 of the following; .NET, C#, TypeScript, npm, Angular CLI, SCSS, HTML
• Previous use of source control repositories
• Experience of mobile-first development
• Ability to Lead a team (1x Software Engineer, 1x QA Analyst and Data Analyst)

Lead Software Engineer – Desirable:

• Previous use of continuous integration technologies
• Python
• Elasticsearch and Kibana
• Azure technologies including Azure SQL, CosmosDB, Functions Web
• Experience with formal unit testing methodologies

Alongside leading the team (mentioned above) you will also be working alongside a Product Owner, a Business Analyst, 3rd party software vendors and other technology & digital specialists to ensure key systems and projects for the company are scoped, agreed, developed, tested and delivered.
 
Once the initial sales software project is completed the role is intended to evolve, incorporating support for new and existing internal software, whilst also exploring how the business can further refine within their software stable to serve both internal users and external customers.
