Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Marcus Donald and I are looking to speak to a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our client within the Media sector who have long-term partnerships with some of the largest & popular brands across the globe.

Due to recent successes, they are currently growing their team and need a Systems specialist with strong Server & Network experience.

Although the head office is based in Hertfordshire, they are offering a hybrid home/office split with a lot of flexibility available.

Senior Infrastructure Engineer  – Responsibilities:

• Responsible for project delivery (minimal BAU)
• Assist with wider IT infrastructure project work (Windows Server upgrade)
• Responsible for the ongoing evolution of the network
• Responsible for the configuration of / implementation of security services (Firewalls)
• Assist the IT Director as well as the Network Lead in helping us secure our security posture as well as ensuring we have a good level of patching

Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Essential:

• Experience of managing Linux servers and/or Windows Server ideally in an enterprise environment
• Proficient in analysing and troubleshooting problems; identifying solutions; and recommending and implementing methods, procedures and techniques for resolution and elimination of root cause.
• Good experience managing firewalls
• Knowledge of L2 and L3 network protocols, particularly dynamic routing
• Strong written skills — technical documentation and diagramming
• Day-to-day service operational support, including problem and incident ticket investigation and resolution.

Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Desirable:

• Linux server knowledge, ideally in an enterprise environment 
• Working experience with FortiGate, NAC or Cisco ASA
• Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, SQL, Python)
• Infrastructure and/or Network qualifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE)
• ITIL Service Management Foundation certification (or equivalent)
• Stakeholder management
