Description

Marcus Donald are currently looking to source a Cyber Security Engineer to join a financial organisation. The role is based in London however, there will be the availability to work from home at least 2-3 days per week.

You will be responsible for detecting threats and vulnerabilities in networks and applications, and to build and incorporate high-tech solutions within the organisation. As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of new defence systems and protocols.

To be successful in this role, we need someone who has:

  • Proficiency of Operating System fundamentals, OS Security (Windows & Linux) and Networking Principles, Protocols and Practices
  • Ability to identify attacks and malware (Trojans, Ransomware, etc.) analysing event data generated from proxy, endpoints, IDS, MPS, network devices etc
  • Prior experience in building modern vulnerability management programs
  • Experience working with cloud platforms and infrastructures (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Understanding of infrastructure and cloud vulnerability scanning and configuration
  • Containerized and Orchestration understanding of Vulnerability Management
  • Familiar with OWASP Top 10
  • Extensive experience in performing secure code automated/manual reviews
  • Familiarity or experience with CI/CD pipelines and Agile methodologies
  • Familiarity with Vulnerability and SSDLC tools and DevSecOps practices
  • Ability to automate repeatable tasks

The Key responsibilities – Cyber Security Engineer:

  • Create threat intelligence feeds and track them.
  • Keep up with the latest advances in defence, vulnerability, and technology.
  • Service and Incident Ticket logging, ownership, and updates, all the way to resolution
  • Collaboration with the Access software creation and support teams is essential.
  • Engage in auditing and project management activities as required.
  • Analysing and evaluating cyber threats and phishing alerts as first responders.

 Skills/ Requirements – Cyber Security Engineer:

  • Enjoy your learning and be open to the ever-changing threat environment.
  • Communication of network security problems to colleagues and management.
  • A degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or related qualification preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capacity to multitask, prioritise, and successfully manage time.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Cybersecurity developments and hacking techniques are well-understood.
  • Over 4 years of experience in the area of information security.
