Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Marcus Donald are working with a Financial Services company based in London that are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer. This individual be responsible for the overall DevOps function within the business, the continuous enhancements of their complex AWS Infrastructure and working on several in-house projects.

The successful candidate will have a Software Development background as well as extensive experience working on the AWS platform and SQL Server, ideally in the Financial Services sector.

Key responsibilities for the Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

  • Hands on development of AWS Infrastructure
  • Building and deploying CI/CD pipeline
  • BAU focus on complex environment
  • Assisting Dev team on in-house and client facing projects

Key skill for the Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

  • Extensive hands on AWS – EC2, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Kinesis
  • SQL Server experience
  • AWS CloudFormation, AWS SAM (Serverless Application Model), AWS CodeDeploy, AWS CodePipline, TeamCity
  • Coding - NET Framework including C#, .NET or VB.NET
  • PowerShell/Python scripting skills.
  • Networking - VPC Configuration/VPC Peering, Route53 DNS Configuration, ELB, Auto Scaling
  • Full SDLC
  • Strong communicator

Advantageous skills for the Senior DevOps Engineer

  • SQL Server
  • Financial Services sector experience

  1. [must]An AWS Guru, someone who has actually done things in AWS (not just part of a bigger team, doing just a little bit here, or focusing on just one part). We need a person who knows there stuff inside and out, has implemented it and knows how to work through issues and get AWS optimal.
  2. [A very very nice to have] Someone who knows SQL Server. More like a DBA (if you can consider SQL server having a DBA) but someone who understands the fundamentals of how SQL server works and knows how to keep it happy.
  3. [a nice to have] Someone who understands coding, an ex developer would be best, C# & .NET, UI and back end.
