Description
Senior DevOps Engineer A market leader based around the Fenchurch Street area are looking for a skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join the team. They’re building next generation SaaS applications utilising only the best technology available. The Senior DevOps Engineer will be working in an Agile team who are very passionate about all things dev and love solving complex problems. This individual will have a love for DevOps and have the opportunity to further develop their technical knowledge as the technical environment evolves. This role is going to have emphasis on the back-end. This role will have a heavy focused on Azure offerings such as AKS, PaaS and Infrastructure as Code. Essential skills for the Senior DevOps Engineer:
Agile software engineering practices such as CI/CT/CD with Azure DevOps and YAMLEagerness to prioritise collaboration and partnering within the team, experience defining and implementing effective data engineering working practices in agile teams and across teamsExperience with building and managing Terraform (especially in Azure).Experience with containerisation tools (especially Docker)Experience with architecture/engineering of cloud based distribution systems (such as Azure).Net CoreExperience of APIsStrong knowledge of Azure and its PaaS offerings such as Storage Accounts, Application Gateways, Azure Firewall, Key Vaults, App Service and Azure Kubernetes Service.Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP, UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, and API's
Objectives for the Senior DevOps Engineer:
Support and maintain the service infrastructure with appropriate security and privacy controls and meets users’ needsBusiness solutions comply with privacy and security requirementsWork in an agile way, collaborating with colleaguesProvide advice and assurance about the work of junior colleaguesDeliver new functionality to service platforms, with an emphasis on platform independence, automation and cost-benefit optimisationProvide support and documentation to ensure knowledge transfer and retentionEnsure that governance rules, particularly security standards are always upheld
