Infrastructure Engineer

Marcus Donald are currently working with an organisation based in Leeds that are actively seeking an Infrastructure Engineer. This individual will be responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of the organisations on-premise infrastructure (excluding its networks).

This position gives the candidate an opportunity to gain exposure to an enterprise scale Azure infrastructure.

Key responsibilities for the Infrastructure Engineer:

• Monitoring and maintain the enterprise scale Infrastructure
• Vulnerability management for both internal and external infrastructure
• Site visits to data centre and premises if necessary
• Maintain and build relationships with 3rd party suppliers
• Update software images builds inline with customer solutions
• Responsible for planning and executing internal and external customer disaster recovery plans
• Liaise with cross functional teams to monitor and maintain on premise infrastructure

Key skills for the Infrastructure Engineer:

• Windows Server
• DNS, DHCP, NPS, RDS, DFS
• Cloud (Azure or AWS)
• Active Directory & AD Resource Forest Models
• Disaster recovery methodologies
• Networking principles/knowledge
• Monitoring and deployment tools            
• Patching and maintenance of Infrastructure technologies
• Ability to be security cleared (SC Clearance minimum)

 Desired skills for the Infrastructure Engineer:

• Linux/UNIX
• ESXi / vSphere
• XEN Desktop
• SAN storage
• Infrastructure security best practise
• SharePoint
• Knowledge of telephony
• Experience working in DevOps/Agile environment
