Marcus Donald are now searching for a Data Privacy Lead to join a client based in Farringdon.

In this role you take responsibility as the SME for data privacy activities across the business and lead a small team that will build on existing work and establish a fully operational best practice model that will continuously improve data privacy, GDPR and all other Compliance within the company.

As well as this, you will be a part of a larger project aiming at maturing the business’ ISMS and engaging with multiple teams, managing activities of assigned data privacy colleagues, establishing & embedding policies, standards and guidelines as well as ensuring the organisation aligns with ISO27001.

Key Skills as Data Privacy Lead

• Excellent knowledge of GDPR & DPA 2018
• Knowledge of EU & UK Data Protection Laws
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• Adaptable to the changing direction of projects as they evolve
• Delivering change
• Prior experience managing teams
• Producing reports, plans and presentations
• Agile mindset

Key Responsibilities as Data Privacy Lead

• Ensuring the data privacy team delivers an effective GDPR compliant best practice across the business
• Responding to demands such as data subject rights requests, data breach notifications, supplier compliance and authoritative guidance
• Delivering responsive and effective data privacy response services to assure compliance with GDPR
• Managing staff to establish and monitor GDPR alert systems, managing response effectively to notifications in line with policies and regulations, liaising with the legal team and escalating where required
• Completing requests and adopting continuous improvement footing and reporting on performance
• Assuring compliance policies and processes ensure the business complies with Data Breach Process’, Subject Access Request Process’, Data Retention Policies, Overarching Privacy Policies & Privacy Notices
• Working with technology teams to test and assure that incident handling, business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities are compliant with data privacy policies
• Investigating suspected and actual data breaches and undertaking remedial action as required
