Marcus Donald are currently looking for an Engineering Lead to join a leading Fin-Tech client in the heart of Liverpool Street. 

Key skills required for Engineering Lead:

• Previous experience in mentoring junior engineers, able to lead by word and example
• Excellent communication skills
• Full stack development skills with proficiency in either Java side or JavaScript with frameworks such as React, Angular and Vue.js
• Working knowledge of Python and SQL
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
• Experience building and maintaining web applications
• Excellent knowledge on designing, developing and integrating with APIs and external services
• Strong work ethic
• Be dependable with a great sense of ownership

Responsibilities required for Engineering Lead:

• Managing a cross-functional team that works on multiple projects simultaneously
• Shape and expand the team to match the company’s growing needs
• Mentoring junior engineers and fostering solid engineering principles with a DevOps mindset
• Be involved and contribute to software architectural design and decisions
• Be hands-on and create clean, maintainable and well-documented software
• Build internal tooling and customer-facing applications
• Be responsible for deployments, company-wide BI and metrics systems

Desirables skills:

• Knowledge of FIX message protocols for FX
• Experience with AngularJS
• Comfortable operating in a Linux environment
• Experience with deployment / continuous integration software
