Business Intelligence Analyst
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join a growing software company.
Forming a new Business Intelligence team, reporting to the managing director, who will also mentor or find a suitable associate mentor.
The successful candidate will be a key member of the team and bring their developing analytical skills to a variety of projects covering all aspects of business intelligence and strategy.Â
You would be responsible for consulting with customers to develop analytic solutions and also the delivery of intelligence and insight.Â
The Business Intelligence Analyst will develop to provide expertise in BI analytic tools, providing on-demand reporting and training to other users, as well as executing ad hoc analysis as required. There will be considerable on the job training and opportunities to significantly expand your role, ranging from more advanced analytical work to product and programme management.
This position would suit a candidate who has had experience in a similar role or a recent graduate who has successfully completed an internship in a business setting.Â
Location and Work Environment
For the first 3 months' you will be based in Milton Keynes then thereafter you can work remotely.Â
The role may occasionally require you to travel for meetings, onboarding sessions and conferences. When working remotely, it is important to have a reliable and performant internet connection which will enable you to take part in video conferencing. The probation period including training would take place in Milton Keynes after which the role would become predominately remote.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Serves as a key resource for interpreting data and information; communicates results to customers
- Operates as a key contact with customers to facilitate the delivery of business intelligence solutions
- Works closely on company projects to coordinate cross-functional activities and ensures deliverables are accurate and meet customer requirements.
- Utilizes business intelligence tools across all departments and functional areas providing detailed reporting and analysis
- Assesses analytics and reporting needs; in time providing recommendations for enhanced solutions and specifications for business intelligence tools
- Supports the delivery of BI solutions to internal and external customers
- Supports prioritization of reporting needs across process areas to support deployment strategies and business needs
- Supports development of protocols to extract data in a standardized process from a variety of data sources
- Supports development and definition of data management standards and processes to effectively manage data through the reporting life cycle
- Supports data mining of customer and sales force information for all market segments
- Supports development of prototypes and models for database, data integrations and data transformation needs
- Maintains and develops strong working relationships with business owners as a process advocate
- Supports creation of speech and presentation materials for members of the management team
- Keeps abreast of automation and digitization trends
Experience & Education Requirements
- Experience developing strong analytics and reporting knowledge an advantage, otherwise evidence of strong analytic mindset and intellectual curiosity essential
- Ideally some training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, or computer science generally obtained through completion of a three/four year Bachelor’s Degree program
- Ability to effectively participate in cross-functional problem-solving teams
- Planning, analytical and conceptual skills to evaluate business problems and identify and apply appropriate solutions
- Solid business acumen
- Excellent analytical skills
- Experience of relational databases (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server) and data management desirable
- Experience with object oriented programming (e.g. c#) desirable
- Experience with statistical or maths packages (e.g. R ) desirable
- Experience with business intelligence tools, capabilities, and best practices desirable
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and Excel essentialÂ
- UK Driving License
