Senior Technical Architect (Salesforce) 3‑month contract (possible extension)
£700–£800 per day (Inside IR35)
Hybrid – London, Glasgow or Cardiff
Must hold valid SC clearance

A major UK public sector organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Architect (Salesforce) to lead the design, assurance, and governance of Salesforce-based solutions across multiple workstreams. This role sits within a large digital transformation programme, supporting secure, scalable, user‑centric services that integrate with wider enterprise platforms.
Role Overview You will be responsible for defining and assuring technical designs across multiple Salesforce clouds and domains, ensuring solutions are secure, robust, scalable, and aligned to organisational architecture standards. The role involves guiding engineering teams, influencing technical direction, and ensuring high-quality delivery across complex programmes.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and documentation of multi-cloud Salesforce solutions aligned with architectural, security, and data standards.
  • Provide technical assurance across all Salesforce implementations and integrations.
  • Define integration patterns using APIs, middleware, and reusable services.
  • Collaborate with data, security, engineering, and delivery teams to ensure platform consistency and interoperability.
  • Mentor architects and engineers, contributing to a Salesforce Centre of Excellence.
  • Support governance processes, design reviews, and risk/impact assessments.
  • Develop reusable patterns, templates, and architectural artefacts.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience designing and leading Salesforce solutions across multiple clouds (Service, Experience, Public Sector Solutions, Core Platform).
  • Deep understanding of API-led integrations, middleware, and enterprise data flows.
  • Ability to create and maintain architecture artefacts using Archi, ArchiMate, UML, or equivalent frameworks.
  • Strong grounding in secure design principles, data governance, and risk-based assurance.
  • Experience influencing technical decisions across delivery teams and large programmes.
  • Valid SC clearance (mandatory).
  • Professional certifications such as:
    • Salesforce Technical Architect (or equivalent senior Salesforce certifications)
    • Architectural qualifications (BCS, TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent)

Desirable

  • Experience working within government or public-sector digital standards and assurance frameworks.
