Microsoft Purview Implementation Specialist
Location: London/Glasgow/Cardiff
Contract Type:Inside IR35, until end of March
Rate: £320 - £350 per day
Must have current SC Clearance
Are you passionate about data governance and eager to make an impact? We’re looking for a hands-on Microsoft Purview Implementation Specialist to help us deliver a robust data governance framework. What You’ll Do You’ll play a key role in configuring and onboarding Microsoft Purview, setting up data products, and managing governance artefacts. Your work will ensure seamless alignment with our RBAC model and governance standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Configuration & Access Management:
- Configure Purview roles, domains, and policies.
- Manage user onboarding and permissions.
- Data Product Setup:
- Create and configure data products within Purview.
- Link assets and metadata accurately.
- Metadata & Labelling:
- Apply classifications, glossary terms, and labels to assets.
- Maintain governance artefacts like glossaries and data classifications.
- Governance Artefact Management:
- Validate metadata and lineage information.
- Support governance workflows and approval processes.
- Operational Coordination:
- Track progress and maintain status reports.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve configuration issues.
- Knowledge Transfer:
- Document processes and provide clear handover notes.
What You’ll Deliver
- A complete configuration log of Purview settings and RBAC roles.
- An up-to-date access management register.
- A fully configured data product catalogue with metadata and labels.
- A maintained governance artefact repository.
- Weekly progress reports and clear process documentation.
Who You’ll Work With You’ll collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including data owners, information champions, security, legal, compliance, audit, and architecture teams.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Purview.
- Hands-on experience with Purview administration and RBAC principles.
- Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and data product frameworks.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders.
