Description
Job Title: Project Manager – T+1 Settlement (Securities Operations)
Inside IR35 role, hybrid, paying between £500 - £650 per day.
Role Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Project Manager with proven experience in managing projects related to T+1 settlement cycles within financial markets. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of post-trade operations, exceptional documentation and communication skills, and a track record of delivering complex, time-sensitive regulatory or operational change initiatives.
This is an inside IR35 role, hybrid paying between £500 - £650 per day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage end-to-end delivery of T+1 settlement readiness projects, ensuring timelines, scope, and budget are met.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders across operations, IT, compliance, risk, and front office to drive project deliverables.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, status reports, RAID logs, and governance documentation.
- Create and manage comprehensive business cases, project charters, and post-implementation reviews.
- Ensure strong documentation across the project lifecycle, including business requirements, test plans, and user guides.
- Facilitate project governance forums, steering committees, and working groups.
- Identify and manage risks, issues, and interdependencies; escalate where necessary.
- Drive stakeholder engagement and provide transparency to executive sponsors and senior leadership.
- Monitor regulatory developments (e.g., SEC T+1 mandates) and assess operational impacts.
- Support testing, cutover planning, and readiness assessments ahead of implementation deadlines.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Solid experience of project management experience in financial services, particularly in securities operations or regulatory change.
- Hands-on experience managing T+1 settlement or similar post-trade operations projects.
- Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, including trade capture, matching, clearing, and settlement.
- Exceptional documentation and reporting skills—able to create clear, concise materials for technical and business audiences.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, Excel).
- Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities across business and technology groups.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with CSDs, custodians, clearing houses (e.g., DTCC, Euroclear) during settlement changes.
- Knowledge of US or global securities regulations related to T+1.
- PMP, Prince2, or Agile (Scrum) certification.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business, or Technology.
