Description

Data Migration Consultant required for 9 months contract, outside IR35, from £400 - £480 per day.

The role is remote, however you must be willing to commute to London (infrequently) at your own cost.

The project is to move the data from a legacy application to a SAP application.

Skills Required:

  • Prior experience in a similar role
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server- being able to write SQL code and queries
  • Proactive hands-on delivery approach
  • Solid understanding of database structures
  • Able to work under tight schedules and on multiple tasks
  • Strong understanding of data conversion work processes and deliverables
  • Comprehensive analytical skills and the ability to formulate client-specific solutions
  • Expereince of SAP desireable.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on data migration on behalf of the project delivery team
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and internal teams to develop a data migration approach and strategy
  • Develop and implement the data migration approach and plan
  • Report to the appropriate accountable stakeholders and boards on progress delivering regular status reports and presentations on data quality
  • Investigate and identify risks to the successful delivery of the project resulting from data and the data migration approach
  • Interrogate SQL and SAP data in the preparation of a data assessment including assessing the completeness, accuracy and quality of data
  • Perform research and analysis on data to ensure clear decisions can be made on how data should be treated
  • Engage with data compliance, data owners and data stewards to facilitate the project’s compliance with legal and industry standards for data management
  • Quality Assurance activities within Data Migration deliverables to ensure all relevant checks and balances are adhered to
  • Review and make recommendations to improve the data migration process using industry best practice experience
  • Developing migration scripts from source databases and produce output extracts for destination systems
  • Facilitate, conduct and document the data discovery, data mapping and data analysis sessions
  • Attending all meetings to provide expertise in determining the appropriate conversion strategy and project scope
