SQL Database Administrator

Marcus Donald and I are looking for an experienced SQL Database Administrator to join a NFP and is interested in helping to shape their future data strategy!

*Flexible – hybrid working. London based*

Hours: 35 hours per week (open to flexible or part-time working)

You will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, security, maintenance, and performance of their critical SQL Server RDBMS system, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of the database and their integrated applications.

SQL Database Administrator – Responsibilities:

• Experienced DBA with good problem-solving skills and a logical and detail orientated mind.
• Excellent SQL skills you must be capable of working independently and collaboratively.
• Able to troubleshoot and fix issues with minimum business impact.
• Strong DBA who also has experience with general SQL development, API integrations and able to quickly develop their skills and knowledge to cover a wide range of database development needs.

SQL Database Administrator – Technical Skills

• Proven Experience of SQL server database administration
• Strong knowledge of Integration services e.g., SSIS and use of stored procedures
• Experience of database performance monitoring and database optimisation processes
• Experience of working with ETL tools to pull data across systems using APIs and webhooks
• Experience in database development and architecture including hands-on physical and logical database design.
• Proven track-record of documenting processes and good database housekeeping
• Experience of managing associated database architecture/applications e.g., Windows server administration
• Experience of working with external database hosting suppliers
• General software updating/patch management   

SQL Database Administrator - Desirable skills

• Hosting, configuration, and administration of SQL in an Azure environment
• Understanding of Talend (or other ETL tool)
• Understanding/exposure to Java , Salesforce Apex, Python, Tableau, Auth0 (SSO)
