Senior Network Engineer

Marcus Donald People are currently looking for a Senior Network Engineer (Cisco) to join an Investment Bank on a permanent basis. You will be joining a team tasked with maintaining and supporting the global network infrastructure.

* £75,000 - £85,000 per annum + Benefits & Bonus *
** Hybrid working – London (close to Liverpool Street) **

Although experience within the financial sector would be ideal, it is not required. They have a fantastic working environment and are offering a brilliant starting salary + bonus. More importantly they are looking for someone who is driven, eager and has a real passion for what they’re doing! 

Senior Network Engineer (Cisco) – Responsibilities:

• Maintain and support the global network infrastructure
• Perform monitoring and analysis for network and infrastructure
• Excellent troubleshooting skills on wide variety of networking issues, including common Ethernet LAN problems, office Wi-Fi, routing, switching, and VPN remote access
• In-depth understanding of common layer 2 and layer 3 network protocols and best practices; working knowledge of OSPF, BGP, PIM, IGMP
• Ability to design, test, and configure IPSec and SSL VPNs
• F5 configuration and management including LTM and ASM modules
• Experience with firewalls and their features (Cisco ASA)
• Knowledge of Network diagnostics, BGP, SNMP, VPN, SSH, MPLS technologies
• Experience with packet decoding and analysis tools such as tcpdump and Wireshark
• Advise on network and security risks and issues
• Experience with Networking Automation
• Work on projects, completing required tasks, and meeting deadlines as assigned
• Ability to create and maintain clear and effective technical documentation
• Networks qualifications (Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCIE)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to distill complicated issues into clear and concise terms
