Marcus Donald are delighted to offer this Deputy Data Protection Officer role for a well known Insurance provider, with a Head office based in London. You will be advising on all aspects in line with DPO requirements as set out by UK data protection laws and regulation. This role predominately focuses on the Business-as-Usual activity for Retail & Commercial businesses as a 2nd line oversight function.
**Hybrid working available 2/days a week in London**
**Competitive salary range of £90,000 - £110,000 + bonus package**

Deputy Data Protection Officer – Responsibilities;
- Partner with 1st Line Business Stakeholders to ensure all practices relating to the processing of personal & special category data are executed in a compliant manner in line with UK data protection laws and regulations and other regulatory requirements.
- Carrying out DPIAs providing advice, guidance, recommendations to the 1st line to remediate and mitigate data protection risks to a minimal level. Highlighting key areas to the Senior Business Leader responsible to enable an informed risk based decisioning process to an acceptable level.
- Oversee Data Protection Manager
- Work to support the DPO and act on their behalf at forums, internal committees, internal boards, and external trade association committees when delegated.
- Work in unison transversally with the Senior members of the Company Data Protection function, including as an advisor and contributor to new laws, guidance, regulations impacting the existing Company Privacy Framework.
Deputy Data Protection Officer – Requirements;
- Degree in related field; Legal, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management or Data Protection.
- 5-10 years’ experience in a Data Protection Role as a Practitioner, DPO, Legal Advisor, Data Protection Manager or similar.
- Experience working in a corporate environment preferably Financial Services, Insurance or the Health industry.
- Certified with body; IAPP, CIPP/E, ISEB, PDP.
- Ability to operate autonomously but work in partnership with Group Privacy peers, business stakeholders, including other SMEs, such as Information Security, (CTO) Architecture, Procurement, Legal, Risk.
