Head of Engineering

Marcus Donald are currently looking for a Head of Engineering for a large and well known organisation in London. You will be joining an organisation that has seen fantastic growth and you will play a key part in what the future looks like.

You will be heading up a team of Tech Leads, architects, software developers and Delivery (Scrum) with close alignment to the CTO & CIO in delivering an environment capable of exceeding expectations/needs.

* £86,000 - £92,000 per annum + bonus and benefits *
** Hybrid working role – homebased and London **

You will ultimately be tasked with driving the Software Development Life Cycle management (SDLC) & partner with both business and technology groups to ensure that their core applications align with the organisation’s strategy, mission and vision. A TOGAF certification would be fantastic!

Head of Engineering - Role & Responsibilities:

• Have a strong software development/applications background
• Have in-depth knowledge of industry best practices, architectures, established and emerging technologies
• Experience of developing teams to deliver high quality digital products / solutions that conform to agreed architecture principles, delivering business value within expected and agreed timeframes
• Have the ability to motivate, lead, and/or establish an architecture service in a fast-paced, forward-thinking innovative environment whilst ensuring the best use of available talent and capacity
• You will have accountability and autonomy to lead, build and establish their architecture function
• Specialist in software delivery, with experience and knowledge of delivering large platforms through multidisciplined teams
• Knowledge and experience delivering complex, high-budget technology initiatives in Agile, Waterfall across both web and back-end systems.
• Track record of leading teams and demonstrable leadership qualities, such as delegation and coaching for appropriate outcomes
• Provide the business with technical leadership and contribute to internal roadmaps.
• Overseeing all aspects of engineering, including technical strategy, technology blueprint, information security and best practices & technology stacks
• Work closely with their product team to ensure they have a clear understanding of what they’re building, why they’re building it and when
