Description

Marcus Donald are delighted to offer this Information Governance Officer role for a Global Education Corporation. The head office is based in London however, primarily remote. This role is part of a small team which maintains and develops a comprehensive understanding of compliance requirements in the business and an aligned set of effective policies and processes.
 
**This role is hybrid working 1-2 days per week in London**
**Competitive salary of £40,000 - £50,000 + flattering benefits package**
 
Information Governance Officer – Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to IG change assessments including DPIA, DPbDD and third-party contract reviews
  • Work with the business to assess compliance, identify threats and carry out risk assessments
  • Maintain and develop a comprehensive understanding of compliance requirements in the business and an aligned set of effective policies and processes
  • Continuously improving information security posture, governance, and data privacy
  • Ensure an effective GDPR compliance and regulatory data privacy service is provided across the group
  • Develop and mature their data privacy practice
  • Work with business asset owners to ensure they maintain comprehensive information asset registers, ROPA, data retention schedules and data privacy risk registers

Information Governance Officer – Required:

  • Working knowledge of data privacy legislation including the GDPR
  • At least 1 years’ experience in a similar role related to IG, technology, or data management
  • A sufficient understanding and background in a technology related discipline to be effective in assessing IG compliance and an understanding of threats across a wide range of digital projects
  • Demonstrable evidence of driving continuous improvement
  • Relevant certification in data privacy
  • Experience working in certified environments (e.g., ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, PCI DSS)
