Network Security Engineer

Marcus Donald are now looking for a Network Security Engineer to join a Government Agency on a 6 month initial contract for the new year. They are looking for someone who can bring technical expertise along with a breadth of industry knowledge to join the team.

• Hybrid Working (London based)
• 6 months (initial basis)
• £500 - £550 per day (inside IR35)

Responsibilities –Network Security Engineer

• Contribute to the technical design of security systems and services
• Research and apply innovative security solutions to new or existing problems
• Demonstrating understanding of system and network hardening practices.
• Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including firewalls, routers, switches, Wi-fi setups (Cisco, Uni and fortiGate)
• Develop and support the network strategy across the organisation
• To identify, diagnose, and resolve information security / network issues.

Core Qualifications – Network Security Engineer

• At least 2-3 years of experience in Network Engineering.
• Knowledge of scripting languages is considered highly advantageous
• Understanding of network tools such as IPS/IDS.
• Able to upgrade and install firewalls, LANs, WANs, VPNs ect.
• Working knowledge of Windows, Azure and AAD.
