Description
Marcus Donald are currently looking for an IT Support Engineer with experience supporting Business Applications to join a very popular Educational leader with multiple offices throughout the UK, headquartered in the city of London.
This is the perfect position for someone with previous and/or current experience working with, understanding, and supporting either bespoke or commercial applications.
We are ideally looking for someone with experience supporting a Learning Content Management System (LCMS) however, any provable experience of a business application you have had to learn from scratch and provide support on would be perfect and act as a transferrable skill.
Currently, the Application Support team are 100% working from home, with zero expectation of this changing in the near future. Yes, maybe the odd day here and there will be required but nothing continuous as the team has performed amazingly throughout the last couple of years from home. Someone that is a commutable distance from the City of London would, however, be advantageous. There are also great benefits available, such as:

IT Support Engineer – Responsibilities:
- Provide second line technical support on application, operational, and project issues as they arise in order to ensure the smooth running of platforms on a day-to-day basis
- Resolve customer issues according to SLAs/KPIs
- Carry out investigations into business applications functionality to innovate new system features as required by the business
- Comprehensive testing of new products/systems and findings and recommendations communicated effectively to relevant parties
- Open to learning new technologies that are required to support a broadening application estate and support need
IT Support Engineer – Technical:
- Experience of using a support tool and ticket management system
- Experience of bespoke software deployment across small to large organisations
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Azure AD
- Active Directory
- Office365 / Office Suite
- Networking Knowledge
- Basic SQL
- Amazing documentation knowledge
IT Support Engineer – Desirable:
- Experience of using ServiceNow
- Experience supporting an LCMS / CMS
- Experience supporting Content Management and e-assessment systems
- XML (basic)
- Experience of online / computer-based testing systems
- Familiar with DevOps/agile development methodologies and processes
IT Support Engineer – Future purpose of role:
To develop, implement, maintain and evaluate/advise on improvements in business applications (including LCMS) and services in order to enhance the delivery of the organisation’s products and customer service that meets the specified needs of internal and external customers.
