Information Security Officer

Marcus Donald are looking for a Information Security Officer to work within my clients information security function. We are looking for a highly skilled individual to build out the GRC part of their information security function, we are looking for a motivated individual who is interested in all areas of security.

Information Security Officer – Requirements:

• Developing information security plans and policies
• Implementing security controls to protect confidential or sensitive information
• Working with the it manager, identify and manage technical vulnerabilities
• Monitoring networks and it systems for security breaches and security incidents
• Investigating and responding to security breaches and security incidents
• Owning and managing the security improvement plan
• Investigating and utilising new technology to enhance security capabilities and implement improvements
• Carrying out internal audits of security controls, to maintain ISO 27001 certification
• Reviewing and updating policies, processes and procedures used by the information security management system
• Providing information security reports for the GRC manager, the senior management team and the divisional information security officer
• A strong understanding of GDPR controls.

Information Security Officer – What you’ll need:

• Good understanding of information security controls
• Good understanding of information technology in a business environment
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, with the confidence and gravitas to build working relationships at all levels, both internally and externally
• Ability to prioritise effectively, both with their own workload and within a team
• Ability to use initiative to solve problems
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications e.g. Word, Excel, SharePoint & Teams
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
• Motivation and a proactive approach to personal development
