Application Security Engineer

Marcus Donald are currently looking for an Application Security Engineer to join a popular banking organisation in the City of London.

As an Application Security Engineer, you'll join a small team of security engineers working to reduce risk across the company. We work with engineering, product, and operations teams to provide security expertise during each phase of the SDLC!

Application Security Engineer – Responsibilities

• Provide security remediation advice and engineering solutions to development and testing teams.
• Provide mentorship to security analysts, testers, and development teams during application security assessments. Able to identify, re-create, and remediate security defects.
• Strong understanding of various development practices, and how to integrate / build security into those practices.
• Experience with a Threat Model program for an enterprise.
• Experience using and testing REST and/or SOAP APIs.

Application Security Engineer – Technical Skills

• CI/CD
• SAST
• DAST
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure or other cloud computing platform offerings and security related services.
• General knowledge of core security networking concepts like TLS, SSH, DNS, Firewalls etc.
• Core understanding of web application security scanning software and related penetration testing tools
