Information Security Officer

Marcus Donald are currently looking for an Information Security Officer to join a popular and prestigious banking organisation in the City of London.

The Information Security Officer will join our clients risk and compliance team who are responsible for identifying and mitigating major risks and compliance against specific regulatory and best practice standards.

The main purpose of this role is to develop and manage the Information Security Framework across the firm, in line with policy, industry best practice, guidelines and Client contractual requirements. You will also be tasked will coordinating internal efforts toward maintenance of relevant information security standards as the firm sees fit to adopt (e.g. ISO27001) and a culture of continuous improvement.

The role allows remote working, offering a 2-3 day split where required. With the office being based within the City of London, it is essential you are able to commute into the Bank/Moorgate area.

Information Security Officer - Responsibilities:

• Manage the ISO 27001 based Information Security Management System.
• Coordinate risk assessments and business impact analysis, the creation of response plans and testing.
• Improve, propose, and monitor information security guidelines and policies.
• Continue to create awareness on information security on all organizational levels.
• Continuously improve documentation and trainings for teams.
• Receive, coordinate response to and analyze security incidents to prevent damage and their recurrence.
• Propose security improvements and measures, budget and resources required.
• Develop, refine, and ensure adherence to security best practices and proactively drive solutions to minimize security exposures and mitigate risks.
• Lead security and compliance reporting.
• Advise top management on all security matters.

Information Security Officer - What You’ll Need: 

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 3 years of working experience as Information Security Officer in an ISO27001 certified environment.
• Experience in assessing/auditing against industry standards such as ISO27001, Cyber Essentials and NIST
• Information Security related certifications (eg ISO 27001, CISA, CISM )
• Strong background in information technology with a clear understanding of the challenges of information security all around the world (esp. Europe, US)
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and fix security risks.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to build understanding and awareness of security issues throughout the organization.
• Experience with educational programs for security awareness
• Good team working skills to develop security solutions in collaboration with the team.
• Excellent communication skills, making an impact on others, establishing credibility with them and making a favourable and professional impression.
• Technical aptitude and knowledge of the principles of information security operations and services
• Operational Security Experience
• Strong knowledge on security policies & frameworks
• CISSP/ CISM certified or equivalent information security certification
• Cooperates effectively with others in the wider team, mentoring and working with them in a constructive manner.
• Understanding of Vulnerability Management
• Understanding of Risk Management
