Junior Information Security Officer

Marcus Donald are currently looking for a Junior Information Security Officer to join an amazing company that are smashing it in the education industry.

This role is offering remote work for the next couple of months, and then will be slowly brining people back into the office for 2 or 3 days a week.

My client is currently looking for someone that has previous experience within tech support and is comfortable talking to and liaising with IT, Legal, Communications and the wider business. Able to build effective working relationships across the business. Also, able to alert staff to incidents and know who to report them to. Along with this, basic ITIL knowledge and awareness, its processes and frameworks and experience writing to and reporting SLAs.

Essential skills - Junior Information Security Officer:

• Able to build effective working relationships across the business
• Working closely with asset owners to undertake information risk assessments in accordance with a defined risk methodology
• Carrying out internal audit actions and compiling reports that will support the assessment of compliance and assure the integrity of the organisations ISMS
• Supporting the business to align business practice and processes with our information security policies
• Covering Laptop encryption
• Experience conducting IT risk assessments

Technical skills - Junior Information Security Officer:

• Familiarity with industry security standards, such as NIST, Cyber Essentials, ISO27001 and GDPR.
• Knowledge of some or all the following: Infrastructure, networking, servers, end-point devices, storage, Email, SharePoint, software operating systems, applications and web-browsing and security enforcing functions
• Clear and unambiguous data feeding reports on ISMS performance
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills

Desired skills - Junior Information Security Officer:

• Professional information security certification
• Experience with business process change projects
• A strong information technology skill set
• A Passion for Cyber Security and gaining as much information as possible
