Description
Marcus Donald are currently looking to source an Application Security Engineer to join a large financial organisation. The role is based in central London, however, there will be the availability to work from home 2 days a week.
In this role, you will work within a team that will be responsible for developing and maintaining the appropriate protection resources to ensure high standards of security assurance in the organisation. You will collaborate with other IT specialists to improve frameworks and software, so that user data is better protected.
The Key responsibilities – Application Security Engineer:
- Responsible for upholding code reviews across all code platforms
- Provide support to the Information Security Manager on all application security activities.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (Engineering, DevOps, Product) while carrying out daily tasks.
- Perform Web / Application security reviews and recommendations.
- Help the organization evolve its application security functions and services.
- Create business protection requirements for source codes.
- Conducting security research on site and mobile applications.
- Integrating security architecture concepts into the design process of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Explore and introduce new ways to simplify and increase security throughout the organisation.
Skills/ Requirements – Application Security Engineer:
- Over 3 years of experience in the area of information security.
- An interest in solving problems.
- Attention to detail.
- Experience with Java, Swift, Python, Scala.
- Abilities to work collaboratively on projects as well as independently when necessary.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience performing security testing, e.g., code review and web application security testing.
Location – Central London, United Kingdom
Salary - £70000 - £80000 per annum
