A market-leading transport and logistics client is looking to further expand their development function by bringing onboard a Software Engineering Manager to take ownership within Engineering, innovating their current technical capacity. It is key that the Software Engineering Manager will have proven experience building highly scalable applications that are based on a Microservices Cloud-based architecture.

This is a great opportunity to build and lead a team of engineers and build on an application that is the first of its kind and will impact real-world problems with great significance.

Responsibilities of the Software Engineering Manager:

• Grow and lead a team of skilled Developers, Tech Leads, Architects and SDETs
• Take ownership of implementing best practices with the SDLC around Agile, TDD and Automation
• Be an integral cog within defining the software architecture
• Be an active part in designing the technical architecture of the platform.
• Support timely delivery of technical solutions to address business needs.
• Drive the release process

Key Skills of the Software Engineering Manager:

• Proven experience in leading engineering teams
• Experience working within a cloud (ideally Azure) and Microservices environment
• Managing applications in production
• Software development & architecture background
• Good knowledge of project management tools
• Be an advocate of driving modern software engineering principles

Salary: £90,000 - £110,000
