Description

Marcus Donald are currently sourcing a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join a market leading SaaS provider.

They are looking for an experienced and passionate SDET to join their expanding team and work on cutting edge web projects. You will be working in a team alongside a Product Owner, Lead BA, Tech Lead and various developers and testers whilst operating within an Agile environment.

If you are an SDET with experience in high volume distributed systems, and advanced testing experience in API’s and UI’s with up-to-date knowledge of C#, Java or JavaScript, and experience of Test Automation tools, then this could be the role for you.

SDET – Roles Responsibilities

  • Maintaining Test Automation Frameworks.
  • Create and carry out concise and thorough tests.
  • Provide feedback on how the systems/code can be designed or can be implemented to make it testable.
  • Have a clear view of what to test and where to test.
  • Confidently collaborate with the Technical Team to ensure requirements are understood.
  • Take an active role across the business, particularly with Story definition and comprehensive testing of stories and performing automation on regression test cases.
  • Be a proactive member of the team when it comes to releases and production defects.
  • Experience in manual testing for web based and desktop applications

SDET – Skills and Experience

  • SQL and some scripting language knowledge
  • Good understanding of C#, Java or JavaScript and the ability to write code with one of these languages is essential
  • Good knowledge and experience of Test Automation tools like Selenium and a BDD framework such as Specflow or Cucumber
  • Advanced testing experience in Web API
  • Good understanding of system code and unit tests
  • Knowledge of CI/CD infrastructure
  • Experience in source control tools. Preferably Git
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Hands on with TDD, BDD and Agile.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
