Marcus Donald are now searching for a SQL DBA to join a client based in Canary Wharf.

In this role you will manage, deploy, improve and monitor an estate of SQL Server services. You will also be required to work closely with the CloudOps & Development teams to help improve performance and efficiency of databases.

Key Skills for a SQL DBA

• Stakeholder management
• SSIS, SSRS, SSAS
• Managing Transactional Databases & DataWarehouses
• VLDB on SQL Server 205 & 2008/2008R2 platforms
• T-SQL knowledge
• Powershell
• Compiling high quality technical documentation
• Quality assurance on own and peers work
• Azure
• Microsoft technologies (2008, 2012, IIS)

Desirable Skills as a SQL DBA

• Confluence knowledge (or other modern PM tools)
• Understanding of user need focused service design
• ITIL
• .NET or other programming knowledge
• MCITP Database Administrator qualified

Key Responsibilities as a SQL DBA

• Monitoring and managing SQL environments
• Conducting performance analysis and proactively tuning SQL environment
• Implementing change controls relevant to databases
• Documenting system architecture, creating disaster recovery and Database Management procedures
• Developing, documenting and supporting business applications to the requirements of the business with a formal team structure
• Providing support for database issues, ensuring the systems can constantly function
