Marcus Donald are currently recruiting for a Senior SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join a fintech client in Chancery Lane, as a Senior SQL Database Administrator (DBA) your operational responsibilities will include monitoring of production/pre-production SQL systems, application patch deployment, SQL related ticket management in various internal systems, low level capacity management of SQL environments, ticket management with external hosting providers, generation of input for Operations Practice reporting.

The role also requires SQL knowledge related to developing, optimizing, and debugging complex SQL code - stored procedures, functions, triggers etc as well as strong data replication and disaster recovery experience across geographically disperse locations.

• Transactional systems e.g. banking, finance, telecommunications, etc.
• Experience with Cloud/SaaS technical web environments.
• Experience supporting geographically disperse systems across multiple time zones.
• Microsoft SQL Server 2014 and above, in a multi-node cluster configuration. Production environment exposure to SQL Server 2014 would be advantageous.
• Experience with SQL Server in Public Cloud systems.
• Data integration and data file handling.
• Development and debugging of ETL Data Services, SSIS packages.
• Experience with performance optimization and debugging of complex SQL environments.              
• Experience working with Managed Hosting providers (ticketing systems and project activity coordination)
• Exposure to PCI DSS compliance requirements and control management.
• Exposure to NoSQL and Big Data and AWS would be advantageous

Able to communicate highly technical concepts adapted to the correct technical altitude of the audience. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proven ability for resolving issues, ability to communicate with third party vendors and strong attention to detail.
