BI Developer / Database Developer / T-SQL / SSIS / SSRS / SSAS

We are currently recruiting for a BI Developer/Database Developer with 3-5 years experience for an Insurance company based in the City of London.

You will be responsible for undertaking analysis, design, and development of Enterprise information systems.  As part of an in-house project team, key responsibility for the development of an Enterprise Data Warehouse and transitioning and supporting the EDW platform into BAU.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development of new Enterprise Data Warehouse platform
  • Analysis and initial development of BI reports
  • Analysis, development and enhancement to report and platform during BAU transition
  • To ensure that performance, security & maintainability are incorporated within all developments
  • To ensure that all solutions are developed in accordance with the company’s Data Dictionary
  • To undertake peer reviews of solutions and documentation in order to ensure that procedures and standards are consistently followed
  • To ensure that high-quality documentation is developed, maintained & regularly reviewed for all solutions developed

Key Skills:

  • T-SQL development
  • ETL development with SSIS
  • Data warehouse development
  • Front-end development with some or all of the Microsoft BI Tools (SSRS, SSAS & PowerBI)
  • Client-facing requirements analysis & documentation
  • Ability to work well and deliver under pressure
  • Solution-focused with good attention to detail

Previous Experience

  • Excellent proven experience of SQL Server technologies
  • Experience with IT development processes and delivery lifecycles; development methodology; release strategy and configuration management; development tools, and applications across full project lifecycles
  • Experience of using TFS to support the development process and project lifecycle
  • Experience in creating & maintaining system support documentation
  • Experience is delivering complex projects under an Agile framework a distinct advantage
  • Experience of Lloyd’s insurance market is desirable
