Description
Marcus Donald are currently seeking a DevOps Engineer to work for an Investment Bank based in the City of London. My client is building a new team to work on an exciting programme of work which will provide exposure to cutting edge financial services applications, the latest technology, the latest and best thinking on Agile delivery, and a brand name which will look great on any DevOps Engineers CV.
This role holds responsibility for the design, development and engineering of a bespoke financial management platform with highly resilient and scalable infrastructure. Every project will be different.
Key responsibilities for the DevOps Engineer
- Designing and Developing custom and complex solutions using Java and other programming languages
- Partnering effectively with client project teams
- Managing the project software delivery life-cycle
- Providing solutions to complex solutions to help of clients and their customers achieve their financial goals
Key Skills required for the DevOps Engineer
- Expert knowledge and experience of designing and developing software in Java
- 3+ years of service-oriented architecture development
- Experience of designing and developing applications in Cloud Infrastructure, ideally AWS and/or Google Cloud / Microsoft Azure
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Experience of DevOps principles including CI/CD, version control and configuration tools
- Bachelor's degree / Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
- Skilled in interpreting and applying technical data.
- A logical mind that enjoys using technical know-how to problem solve
- Natural self-motivation with a passion for delivering excellence
- Great communication skills with the ability to build strong professional relationships
- Curiosity with an ongoing desire to develop and learn
Advantageous for DevOps Engineer
- Experience with messaging technologies
- Knowledge and experience of Linux
- Knowledge of DevOps tools, e.g. Jenkins, Sonar
- Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with Terraform and Ansible
- Knowledge of Web UI technologies (including Angular/JQuery)
- Financial Services and/or Software Consulting experience.
- Experience of working in client-facing environments
