We are working with a leader within the Financial Services space who are looking to onboard an experienced and ACA or CA qualified Financial Accounting Manager to cover numerous entities out of London. The ideal candidate will have had experience working within the Financial Services company or Management Consultancy (Big 4 preferred) and be commutable to London at least one day a week.
 
The role will provide support to the UK-based Ireland & Middle East Controller who covers numerous entities out of London. We are looking for a candidate who is a problem solver with an analytical mindset to review and interrogate the balance sheet and P&L. The candidate will also play a key role is providing support to the team with month end processes and audit.
 
Location: London x1 day a week
Length: 6 months contract
Rate: £400 - £500 per day (Inside IR35)

Financial Accounting Manager
: Roles & Responsibilities

  • Analysis/interrogation of key balance sheet & P&L accounts, with preparation and posting of any associated journals
  • Assistance with preparation of financial statements for legal entities in accordance with IFRS
  • Assistance with month end processes, including the preparation & posting of journals and review of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Provision of support for statutory audits carried out on legal entities in the respective countries
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns and associated accounting workflows, including processing of payment and balance sheet reconciliation of related accounts
  • Preparation and submission of tax returns and associated accounting workflows, including processing of payment and balance sheet reconciliation of related accounts
  • To support on process improvement projects, identifying and implementing best practice processes across the region

Financial Accounting Manager: Experience/Skills

  • Relevant audit background / experience, preferably with the Big 4 audit firms
  • Strong technical accounting skills, with in-depth knowledge of IFRS and strong US GAAP knowledge
  • Experience of SAP or ORACLE ERP systems
  • Excellent Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • ACA / CPA / CA or equivalent certification
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Results orientate
